CMDF has launched its own web portal in order to better serve the industry. The address of this portal is www.cmdf.dti.gov.ph. All CMDF Training Schedules, Programs as well as various databases are contained in this portal. In deference to this PCA Metro decided to redirect its visitors to this new site.

CMDF (Construction Manpower Development Foundation of CIAP-DTI) presented its range services to PCA Metro members at the monthly meeting held on 17 September 2012. Arnel Boston and Penny Usigan of CMDF explained the wide range of services and training courses it offers to the construction industry. They underlined that the 40 hour Construction Safety and Health Course for Site Safety Officers (COSH) is only one of many courses on offer to improve manpower capabilities in the construction industry.

They reiterated that the focus of CMDF is on the following: Quality, Productivity, Livelihood, Management, Competence and Training capability build-up. They also advised that IDs will be soon available with a scan-able feature showing compliance with PCAB requirements. They also advised members that an online database is also under development showing the names of parties who have completed CMDF courses.

During question time many questions were asked including questions about TESDA certification and training.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory Domingo appointed Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA) President Augusto F. Manalo as a member of the Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF) Board of Directors, along with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Deputy Director General Atty. Teodoro C. Pascua.

Mr. Manalo is the current President and Chief Executive Officer of JE Manalo and Co., Inc. He had served as Director, Treasurer and Vice President of PCA before he was appointed as President in the last quarter of 2011.

He also served as President of the Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors (ACEL) in 1998-1999.

The five-member CMDF Board of Directors is composed of members from the construction industry and government sector. It is currently chaired by Rodolfo C. Menguita of DM Consunji, Inc., and is composed of PCA Immediate Past President and DATEM Construction President Liberito Espiritu and EDCOP Consultancy Co. Vice Chairman Rogelio Lombos.

Headed by Executive Director Jesus Motoomull, the CMDF is the training arm of DTI for the skills development of workers in the construction industry. It oversees the development of a globally competitive workforce for the construction industry and offers specialized trainings for craftsmen, engineers, supervisors and project managers of construction companies.
