2011 EVENTS
Contractors were given an overview of global warming and the need for sustainable practices. It was stated that buildings use 32 per cent of the world's resources in construction, is responsible for around 40 per cent of global energy use and generate up to 30 per cent of global Green House Gas emissions. Sustainable construction practices were discussed and contractors were also given an overview of BERDE and its requirements. During the panel discussion attendees lauded the initiative of PCA Metro and its Alliance Partner, PHILGBC, in suggesting to PCAB and CIAP that a voluntary green contractors' license classification be created. Contractors also appreciated the need for accreditation for BERDE registered projects. |
We wish to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors as well as the participating golfers without whom this day would not have been possible. The President's Cup is a is a perpetual trophy and was donated to the Chapter by incumbent President Rogelio SP Lim. The name of each year's winning team is inscribed on the Cup with each member of the winning team receiving a medal. The Presidents Cup however remains with the Chapter. |
