Ask a question:

How can I apply to be a contractor when I am just starting out and have limited resources to do constrcution works? (1 service vehicle, 100K revolving capital, 1 permanent foreman and 2 skilled workers)

Solution You may apply for Category Trade which is neither burdensome nor difficult. You only require a Php45K networth and there is no requirement to have a Sustaining Technical Employee (STE). For the rest all that is required is to be in compliance with other laws of the country - BIR, SSS, Pag-IBIG & Philhealth registered, having filed your ITR and Financial Statement (prepared by BOA accredited CPC), etc. In addition, you as owner (AMO in the case of corporations and partnerships) must attend the two day AMO Seminar, pass the license examination (not difficult and all aspects dealt with in the AMO seminar) and have undergone the 40 hour Construction Safety & Health (COSH) Course (AMO, senior management official (Board level) or senior STE with 5 years site experience and holding position of at least project manager in the case of corporations and partnerships). The license fee is approximately Php650.
