Free Safety Training for small contractors
DOLE-NCR will be offering free construction safety training for small contractors in the National Capital Region (NCR). The tentative date for the first safety training orientation is 14 May 2013.
In the aftermath of the recent deaths of 6 construction workers (see http://pcametro.ph/blog/scaffolding-safety-unlicensed/), Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz ordered the DOLE Regions to provide safety training for small contractors for free (see http://pcametro.ph/blog/dole-orders-safety-review/). DOLE-NCR immediately responded by arranging this event in order to enhance safety awareness among small contractors.
The training will kick off with a construction safety orientation seminar after which the 40 hour Construction Safety and Health Course for Site Safety Officers (COSH) will be presented for free to qualified small contractors at a later date following the orientation. DOLE-NCR will announce the qualification criteria prior to the Construction Safety Orientation seminar.
